Rest, Reflection, & Renewal: Celebrating The Winter Solstice.

Yesterday on the Winter Solstice, I had the joy of leading Light & Stillness: A Winter Solstice Reiki Experience at Peace Love Yoga Studio. It was a space for slowing down, moving mindfully, and resting deeply. Sitting with my students, creating a healing energetic container, guiding somatic movement, yin poses, and a long yoga nidra, I felt the quiet magic of the beginning of the season settle around us.

The Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, has been honored across cultures for thousands of years. It is a threshold moment, a pause between the fading of the old and the slow return of the light. Ancient traditions celebrated it with stillness, reflection, and reverence for the darkness. During the class, I could almost feel that ancient wisdom in action as we slowed down, listened inward, and learned to trust the process of rest and renewal.

For me, the solstice has always been a deeply personal time, a reminder that rest is not only necessary but sacred. It is an opportunity to reflect on the year gone by, release what no longer serves, and plant intentions like seeds beneath the soil, knowing they will grow in their own time.

I am deeply grateful for everyone who joined this practice and shared in the quiet, restorative energy. Holding this space, witnessing stillness and introspection, and supporting others in slowing down and connecting to themselves reminded me how powerful rest can be and how meaningful it is to honor both the darkness and the returning light.

As we move forward into the new season, I look forward to offering more intentional energy and somatic healing experiences, providing opportunities to slow down, explore, heal, and learn together.

Here’s to welcoming winter, to slowing down, and to trusting the natural rhythms of rest, reflection, and growth.

If the stillness and intention of this season resonated with you, I invite you to continue exploring and nourishing your energy with my upcoming offerings. These experiences are designed to support deep rest, somatic healing, and intentional reflection, creating space to slow down, release, and grow.

As we move through the season, may you carry the gentle wisdom of rest with you, honoring both the darkness and the returning light. Take this time to nurture yourself, listen inward, and trust that every quiet moment is part of your unfolding.

With Love,

Kristen
